BAH, AGRA | The number of marsh crocodiles ( Crocodylus palustris), gharials (Gavialis gangeticus), and dolphins (Platanista gangetica gangetica) in the National Chambal Sanctuary has increased this year. The Chambal River is home to 886 muggers, 2176 gharials (Fish-Eating Crocodile), and 82 dolphins, according to the most recent census in 2021. The population status of marsh crocodiles, gharials (type of Crocodile), and dolphins in the National Chambal Sanctuary, a 425-kilometer section of the Chambal River.

Due to a drop in demand for fish and sand during the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown, the number of aquatic creatures has risen substantially in the last year. Without a doubt, it's a good sign!
