The rare bird,” Black Bittern (Lxobrychus flavicollis)” was reported at zone no.5 in the evening safari on June 16, 2017. The bird is very rare for Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. Nature guide, Shakir Ali spotted Black bittern in Bhkola area in the evening drive. He mentioned that he saw this bird second times in the Ranthambhore. He spotted this bird first time at Bakhola area in the year 2016. We must remember that it is commonly found in wetlands and in mangroves. But it is reported in dry deciduous forest in Ranthambhore. It is great news for bird watchers.
